People who were getting off work came and went, casting inquisitive glances at Lydia.
When Lydia realized someone inquiring about her, she naturally greeted him generously.
Finally, someone came to ask her what she was doing sitting here. Lydia took out the contract. “I’m a newcomer who has just joined Feiyan. I’m waiting for the vice chairman.”
The other party was very excited. “I’m also here to wait for the vice chairman. I have something to discuss with him.”
Lydia felt that the person in front of her looked a little familiar. “Have you acted in any movies before?”
“Yes. I’ve appeared in many movies and television shows before. My name is Mary. I can be considered your senior.” As she spoke, she sighed. “I’ve been acting for ten years.”
“Hello, senior.” Lydia also brought a stool over for Mary. Mary was flattered. “No, no, I’ll just stand. The vice chairman should be here soon. His assistant and I have a good relationship.”
“Really?” Lydia put the stool back in its original position. Just as she placed the stool back down, the sound of many people’s footsteps could be heard.
She turned around and saw that Marin Lawton had returned.
That man Marcel was also with him.
Marcel and Marin Lawton were discussing something as they walked. Suddenly, Marcel’s voice stopped. His eyes became fixated on Lydia. His very serious work attitude was instantly covered over by a casual smile.
He stopped talking to Marin and went over to the office door. When Marin saw Lydia, he immediately understood why Marcel had suddenly changed his attitude.
Marcel looked at Lydia. “Speak of the Devil. We were just talking about you.”
Lydia first nodded at Marin and then said, “What a coincidence.”
Marin Lawton unlocked his office and invited everyone in to sit down. Marcel sat on the sofa in the middle, and the two assistants inside began to make coffee for everyone.
Marin Lawton was very tactful and decided to deal with Lydia first. “Miss Lydia, Welcome to Feiyan. Are you looking for me?”
Lydia handed the contract in her hand to him and pointed out the plastic surgery compensation clause. Marin flipped through it and got a little angry. “This is not our contract.” With that, he immediately called the human resource director over.
After the coffee was ready, Marcel took a sip elegantly. He picked up the contract and looked through it, but did not say a word.
Marin Lawton was furious at the HR Director. The HR director did not hold back and told him all about Dani. “Lydia’s contract was signed by her agent, Dani. It was not signed between Feiyan and Lydia.”
“What about the company seal? Don’t tell me that you lost the company seal!”
“I never thought that Dani would dare to cheat new employees regarding the contract, so I did not go into detail when I checked her. Vice chairman, if this matter is true, we can pursue Dani’s legal responsibility.”
“Escalate this matter to the legal department immediately. Go to the legal department and settle this for me. Also, bring me a new contract immediately.”
“Okay, vice chairman, I’ll go right away.”
Marlin began to call the legal department.
After listening to all of this, Lydia was slightly relieved. As long as it was not a problem with Feiyan itself, it was fine. Otherwise, her career path would become much more difficult.
She just did not expect Dani to have the guts to change the company’s contract by herself. She even dared to blackmail her using the contract only a day after she had signed out. Did she look like someone who could fork out five million?
Marcel’s hands formed into a triangle under his chin. He could not hide his admiration for Lydia. “It seems that you don’t agree to plastic surgery.”
“Of course.” Lydia got slightly angry when she said this. “Previously, I had been tricked all the way to the plastic surgery hospital, but I do not believe I need plastic surgery.”
At this point, Lydia suddenly realized what the real problem was. “When I was at the hospital entrance, I did not want to go in. Two men seemed ready to pull me in with force.”
If the other party’s original intention was to blackmail her, then they must first find out about her background. If they had found out that she couldn’t possibly have taken out five million, then the contract should have written a smaller amount. Otherwise, had she been forced into a corner unable to pay up, she would definitely have tried to sue the company, which would expose Dani.
If she only wanted the money for breach of contract, she shouldn’t have needed to send people to drag her into the hospital. Dani should have been praying for her not to agree to the plastic surgery.
In other words, the other party had used the five million yuan penalty as a means of oppression. They had wanted her to undergo plastic surgery!
