Chapter 58 – Something’s Wrong With Hanael!
Kilo and Lanya’s expressions who were standing by the door was quite serious. Sierra stared at them and squinted her eyes. She had a bad hunch.
Lanya had a pale complexion while Kilo was a little flushed. Adding a little exaggeration, their appearance was like an evil dead person delivering the prophecy that the world was about to end.
“What’s with your expression…?”
“Come in.”
Unlike Sierra, who was flustered and was unable to speak, Cassius calmly led the situation. Sierra stared at Cassius with a perplexed look on her face.
Cassius shrugged his shoulders and lightly said, “What are you thinking?”
“….”
“It will be fine.”
His kind tone made Sierra freeze. Like magic, her complicated feeling slowly calmed down little by little.
Sierra inhaled a deep breath, reminding herself that she was overreacting when it comes to Hanael.
‘I don’t have sister now, so I am worried that something else might happen to Hanael….’
While Sierra and Cassius chatted with each other, the four people gathered at the drawing room and the two of them were talking in intimate whispers. But the atmosphere was not noisy.
Looking at the people standing side by side, Sierra coughed. Kilo and Lanya looked at Cassius and Sierra alternately, but they were unable to speak.
“So….”
They had barely opened their mouths but were unable to finish the sentence because of the strange expression on their faces. It was until Cassius quietly patted Sierra’s shoulder with one hand.
“What the hell is going on?”
She felt like she was in a trance because of Cassius’ warm words, but Sierra had the disease of being unable to calm down on things related to Hanael.
“About that.”
Lanya was surprisingly also unable to speak. Even the usually flippant Kilo couldn’t open his mouth and was only seriously smiling.
Sierra narrowed her eyes as she looked at them. Kilo and Lanya were only fiddling with the coffee in front of them for a long time.
When Sierra was at the peak of her frustration, Lanya suddenly pulled out a piece of paper from her doctor’s pocket.
‘Is that an examination sheet?’
They seemed to have examined Hanael separately.
“Please don’t be surprised and just listen.”
Lanya’s eyes were on Sierra. She ruffled her red hair and whispered to Sierra, “So, about Miss Hanael….”
“Right.”
As Sierra became more anxious, she opened her lips.
“I think….”
Sierra accepted the papers they were handed to her with trembling hands.
‘What is it? An examination paper?’
… Yes?
“I beg your pardon?”
I thought I must have heard it wrong.
“It seems that Miss Hanael is a genius.”
“… Yes?”
Sierra’s eyes widened as big as a lantern. Their eyes fixed on Sierra. Kilo opened his mouth again with conviction.
“No, she is definitely a genius.”
… What? Suddenly?
Sierra hurriedly ran to the doctors’ outbuilding, but Cassius grabbed her arm to help her not to faint from overexcitement.
“Kyaaha!”
Hanael was playing in the doctor’s outbuilding.
‘What is that….’
Sierra opened her eyes wide. A light she had never seen before was flowing from Hanael’s fingertips. As she watched the pale light spread from Hanael’s fingertips, she couldn’t get any closer and only her lips were moist. The conversation she had with the doctors earlier came to her mind.
[‘In fact, Miss Hanael had often walked to the outbuilding where the doctors were staying.’
‘… Really?’
‘Yes, I guess she was bored.’
‘Ah….’]
Maybe because she couldn’t pay much attention to Hanael and focused on finding her sister, but the small child seemed to be wandering here and there. She felt sorry for Hanael.
[‘What does that have to do with Hanael being a genius?’]
Sierra’s eyes narrowed as she asked a question.
Lanya, who was staring at her, stopped looking at her and made an apologizing gesture by putting her hands together in front of her accompanied with a troubled tone of voice.
[‘First of all, I apologize in advance. In fact, Miss Hanael didn’t just come to play with us on normal times.’
‘Then?’
‘She sneaked out of the main building without Miss Sierra’s knowledge in the middle of the night and came to play with us. I apologize for not telling you about this first. I thought she definitely got your permission.’]
… This little girl seemed to have caused something. How did she even go from the main building to the outbuilding by herself?
Receiving Sierra’s questioning gaze, Lanya smiled and wiped her face.
[‘I know what you’re thinking. We also thought that it was strange how Miss Hanael could go back and forth between the main building and the outbuilding with no servant to stop her. Because she always comes alone.’
‘… That’s true.’
‘Isn’t it really strange? So I asked Miss Hanael separately.’
‘Yes, and so?’]
Sierra didn’t even blink at this point, but repeatedly clutched the hem of her dress on her knees; her hands sweating.
Then Lanya exclaimed in amazement.
[‘My goodness…! Do you know what Miss Hanael told me? If she pressed the blue thing on her hand, no one could see her!’
‘The blue thing… in her hand?’
‘Yes, blue! She already knew how to use her mana! She’s born with the talent of a wizard.’]
She thought that it was only natural that Hanael was born with the talent of a wizard since she was her sister’s daughter. However ….
[‘But it’s not the talent of an ordinary wizard.’
‘That means?’
‘I examined her, and her mana circuit was cleaner than a normal wizard, and it was pure. If she cultivates it well, she will be a remarkable talent among archmages!’]
In short, Hanael was a great wizard, to the extent that she surpassed her outstanding older sister and even the Magic Tower.
