- Chapter 29 - Please Don’t Come To The Villainess’ Stationery Store! Chapter 29
He looked closely at the glass bottle with suspicion.
It was not a product that was distributed on the market because it had no label on it.
There was something else suspicious. He could feel the subtle energy of mana. But it wasn’t a powerful energy.
‘I’m slowly getting confused.’
Mel whispered softly, hugging Carat’s confused shoulders.
“Go on and try it!”
He never intended to fall for Mel’s mesmerizing magic performance.
Carat nodded solemnly and blew the bubbles as Mel did.
But something’s strange.
He just blew bubbles and the bubbles and petals fluttered like a dream in front of his eyes.
It felt like a soft blanket was wrapping his mind.
It felt like the time from a long time ago was coming back to him. It reminded him of the time that he played with his friends at the tower when he was very young.
Playing tag and catching falling petals from trees…
Without realizing it, Carat smiled and began to blow bubbles again.
“Whoo, whoooo-.”
The petals burst like a cannon in front of him.
Mel and Prince Axion were spinning with the bubbles in excitement.
“W-what is this?”
When he came to his senses, the bottle was on the floor and Mel and axion were laughing while holding each other’s hands tightly.
‘Damn it.’
He had so much fun playing with that woman.
He felt like a small white fur dog that was distracted by a ball.
From the moment he held the toy in his hand, the thoughts of watching Mel disappeared.
Carat tore through his head. His fine hair got tangled up at the tip of his fingers.
But Mel hit him with a happy smile.
“How was it, Carat, fun?”
The woman reached out her hand towards him.
Her hand full of petals caught his eyes.
“Flowers, they’re a present.”
The smiling Mel was so pretty.
Carat took the flowers as if he was possessed.
‘No. This isn’t it! I need to dig out more. She’s incredibly suspicious.’
He opened his mouth, crushing the flowers in his hand.
Of course, it was necessary to refute it. It wasn’t fun, she’s a very suspicious person, and find out how she defeated the Red Diocese Pirates.
“…I-I’ll do it again later.”
I didn’t mean to say that!
To think I’m stuttering like an idiot.
You did something a child would do!
‘I-I need to report this to the Lord. She’s definitely suspicious! She must have cast a spell!’
He covered his mouth with both hands.
It was clear that she did some sort of magic.
Dominique, who claimed to be a watchman, murmured softly next to him.
“Yeah. It’s convenient to give up.”
Huh? What’s with his sunbae-like attitude?
However, there was no time to dwell on Dominique’s words.
“Then let’s go inside the stationery store and eat some slushies!”
“Okay! What’s a slushy, Mel?”
With Xion’s innocent and happy voice, Mel gave a smug smile and spoke to Xion, “Something delicious!”
Slushy? What’s that?
‘Is that the name of the potion she prepared? Is she trying to manipulate us completely?’
Whatever it was, he vowed he would never put it in his mouth.
Because if he took the potion, he thought he would blindly follow her like Prince Axion.
Such a tragic situation had to be prevented. He walked into the stationery store without hiding his suspicious gaze,
“Sit here at the counter and wait a minute!”
***
Prince Cassian, who just arrived at ‘Mel’s Stationery Store,’ hardened and looked through the transparent window.
He came here with a combative mind. He had to know why Axion came to like her.
If she approached the child knowing he was a Prince, she had to be stopped.
But why is it?
The ‘commoner Mel’ Axion talked about was a person he knew.
‘Meldenique Vaveloa?’
Duke Hesman’s fianceé and the evil woman of society. The face was vague, but it was Meldenique for sure.
‘Why is Meldenique Vaveloa here?’
His mind was filled with confusion. And the pieces began to fit one by one.
‘…did she start a new business?’
He didn’t know that Mel, the commoner Axion talked about, would be Princess Meldenique.
Soon after, the rumors of Meldenique were abundant in his head. The lush rumors that he didn’t pay attention to because he didn’t think were important because he had never conversed with her.
The Vaveloa family’s shame.
Rumor had it that she was an idiot in her childhood.
It was said that she was an obstacle that interfered with the beautiful love between Duke Hesman and Lady Sheria.
A woman who’d been carrying all kinds of evil deeds.
He shifted his eyes.
But the woman, smiling happily without pretense, was so different from the rumoured Meldenique.
‘I’ll have to find out more. Why this woman is here and why she became friends with Axion.’
She always copied Lady Sheria’s business plans, so why is she in this small shop?
‘You came in front of the Academy for the happiness of children?’
Those words didn’t match with Meldenique at all.
Cassian got curious.
How is her life changing?
Why is she doing something so eye catching in front of the Academy?
Conversations were needed to find out.
Cassian passed the bench in the garden in front of the stationery store and stood in front of the main gate of the opaque stationery store. If he opens this door, he will see Meldenique and the children.
He put his hand on the doorknob. But it was then.
Inside, he could hear Axion shouting loudly with sincerity.
“Today was really so fun!”
“That’s a relief. How are the drinks?”
“It’s made with water and grapes, right? The slushy also looks really good too, I’m looking forward to it.”
“Yeah, it’s new, right?”
“A little!”
“It’s in front of the table, so try it. Yours is orange. I’ll make you a lot later!”
Cassian thought for a moment about whether he could open the door and go in.
It was just a cozy conversation, but he wondered if he could interrupt them.
At that time, Axion shouted loudly just in time. With a voice full of great emotion.
“Mel, you know. A person like you seems too old and overflowing for me.”
Did you give up that bizarre plan after all? Well, she is too old for him. Listening to his brother’s jumpy voice made him feel even older.
However, as a result, he thought it would be a good thing if his younger brother gave up.
“I was originally going to m-marry you.”
Cassian, who was about to interrupt and knock on the door, paused.
He had an ominous feeling. And his foreboding was never wrong.
“You’d be better off marrying my great brother!”
…what?
Standing in front of the door Prince Cassian naturally slapped his hand on the doorknob.
‘How do I open the door in this situation?’
Won’t it seem as if he’d been waiting for this moment?
Should I postpone learning about Meldenique?
At that moment, however, the door opened as if someone had put magic on it.
And right in front of him, a boy about 19 years old, a cold man with black har and blue eyes asked with a threatening yet cheerful face.
“Who are you?”
He looked quite twisted for some reason.
Like a face that said that he would punish the bully who was after his older sister, and to think that the two had the same expression…
